Golden State Foods (GSF), based in California, has been granted permission to install new equipment at its food-processing plant located in Opelika, Alabama.
The Opelika City Council recently approved the company’s proposed investment, as outlined in council tax abatement documents obtained by Just Food.
GSF plans to allocate $9.4 million towards acquiring and implementing “new manufacturing machinery” at the facility situated within the Northeast Opelika Industrial Park.
Reports from the local news agency Opelika-Auburn News indicate that GSF is seeking to obtain automated equipment for its plant.
Just Food has reached out to the company for details regarding the types of foods the technology will be utilized to produce, as well as the anticipated number of new jobs resulting from the facility expansion.
