Coca-Cola India launched #BenchPeBaat, a campaign to revive genuine interactions and conversations among people, in honor of World Environment Day. This is a celebration of Coca-Cola India’s dedication to promoting meaningful interactions in Indian communities and a circular economy in order to create a World Without Waste. 380 sustainable benches have been built in ten Indian cities by Coca-Cola India through its foundation, Anandana, in collaboration with United Way Mumbai. Made from recycled plastic garbage collected during the 2023 ICC World Cup, these repurposed benches seek to change people’s perceptions of the world one refreshing conversation at a time.
Every bench is made from about 50 kg of scrap plastic that has been repurposed. In ten Indian cities—Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Dharamshala, and Lucknow—these environmentally friendly benches have been placed in public parks, schools, colleges, and municipal corporation offices.
While discussing the campaign, Rajesh Ayapilla, senior director of CSR and sustainability for Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia (INSWA), stated, “At Coca-Cola India, we are steadfast in our commitment towards our global strategy called World Without Waste which drives systemic change through a circular economy of packaging. Our #BenchPeBaat campaign is a testament to our dedication towards sustainability, as we transform waste into meaningful community assets. These sustainable benches symbolise our efforts to reduce environmental impact.”
The commercial film, which was created by Havas People India, the company’s employer branding and talent communication division, combines cutting-edge AI-generated graphics to effectively convey its core message. The film has been painstakingly made with vibrant, emotionally charged graphics that will captivate viewers and engross them in the tale of the sustainable benches as conversation starters.
