Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, is expanding its presence in Bhutan by signing an 83-key hotel in Thimphu, which will be rebranded as IHCL – SeleQtions. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President of Real Estate & Development at IHCL, expressed excitement about this growth, highlighting Bhutan’s appeal as a short-haul international destination for Indian travelers. Thimphu’s strategic location enhances the popular Paro – Thimphu – Phobjikha itinerary, providing a seamless circuit for visitors. The hotel will feature upgraded interiors, diverse dining options including an all-day dining restaurant with a bar, and a rooftop restaurant with stunning views. Additionally, it will offer wellness areas such as a gym, an indoor heated pool, and a spa. Ugen Penjor, CEO of Yarkay Group, praised the partnership with IHCL, emphasizing its potential to establish the hotel as the top choice for travelers in Thimphu.
