The Rajasthan Tourism Department is innovating to promote destination weddings, aiming to position the state as a premier venue. The Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) is spearheading initiatives, including introducing destination weddings aboard the renowned Palace on Wheels, renowned for its opulence and charm. Additionally, couples can opt for pre and post-wedding photoshoots onboard the train.
Deputy Chief Minister of Tourism, Diya Kumari, expressed that this decision to host weddings on the Palace on Wheels signifies a significant step forward. It not only elevates Rajasthan as a prime destination for weddings but also enhances the allure of Rajasthani art, culture, and traditional Vedic ceremonies for international tourists.
She further highlighted the Palace on Wheels’ status as one of the world’s most luxurious trains. Couples choosing this venue for their special day will not only create cherished memories but also serve as ambassadors, showcasing the splendor of Rajasthan and India to the world.
The Tourism Department is actively working to upgrade facilities across all tourist destinations in Rajasthan to meet global standards. This initiative aims to attract a greater number of foreign tourists while also enticing domestic travelers. With 75% of the country’s heritage properties located in Rajasthan, it naturally emerges as the preferred choice for destination weddings nationwide.
Cities like Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Udaipur boast numerous captivating forts and mansions, drawing both local and international visitors for destination weddings. Despite the abundance of heritage forts and havelis, approximately 120 of them are currently hosting such events, showcasing Rajasthan’s undeniable appeal as a destination wedding hotspot.
Celebrities find themselves drawn to destination weddings, with Rajasthan emerging as a particularly alluring choice. The Rajasthan Tourism Department is actively promoting heritage sites across the state, beyond the well-known ones, as prime wedding venues. Whether it’s Bollywood stars, prominent industrialists, or even Hollywood personalities, many are opting for Rajasthan to elevate their nuptials into grand spectacles.
